Course Description: TQUK Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF)
The TQUK Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) is a nationally regulated qualification designed to provide individuals with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to respond confidently and effectively to first aid emergencies in the workplace.
Course Schedule
Day 1:
- Introduction to First Aid and understanding legal requirements
- Roles and responsibilities of the first aider
- Scene assessment and conducting a primary survey
- Delivering Basic Life Support (CPR and AED training)
- Managing unconscious casualties effectively
Day 2:
- Treating wounds and controlling bleeding
- Addressing shock, burns, and scalds
- Managing fractures, dislocations, and sprains
- Treating eye injuries and head trauma
- Recognizing and responding to medical conditions such as diabetes, epilepsy, asthma, heart attacks, and strokes
Day 3:
- Managing poisoning and anaphylaxis incidents
- Treating minor and severe injuries, including cuts, grazes, and amputations
- Practical incident management and role-play scenarios
- Final assessments: Practical and theoretical
Health & Safety Integration
Throughout the course, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of how health and safety principles relate to first aid. This ensures that first aiders can promote a safe working environment alongside their emergency response skills.
Certification
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be awarded the TQUK Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF). This certification is valid for three years and demonstrates the holder's ability to handle first aid responsibilities in a workplace setting.
