    • Risk Assessment: Conduct a thorough risk assessment to identify potential hazards associated with working at height.
    • Planning: Develop a comprehensive plan that outlines the work process, equipment needed, and safety measures.
  • Training and Competence

    • Training: Ensure all workers have received adequate training on working at height, including the use of equipment and emergency procedures.
    • Competence: Only allow competent and trained individuals to perform tasks at height.
  • Selection of Equipment

    • Ladders: Use ladders only for short-duration tasks and ensure they are stable and secure.
    • Scaffolding: Ensure scaffolding is erected and inspected by qualified personnel. Use guardrails and toe boards to prevent falls.
    • Personal Fall Protection: Use harnesses, lanyards, and other personal fall arrest systems (PFAS) as required. Inspect equipment regularly.
  • Access and Egress

    • Safe Access: Provide safe means of access and egress to and from the work area, such as stair towers or ladders.
    • Clear Paths: Keep access routes clear of obstructions and ensure they are well-lit.
  • Edge Protection and Guardrails

    • Toe Boards: Use toe boards to prevent tools or materials from falling from elevated surfaces.
