Course Objectives:

- Daily maintenance and inspection routines.
- Fluid levels, tires, and general condition checks.

- Safe starting and shutting down procedures.
- Roller movements and maneuvering in confined spaces.
- Compaction techniques for various materials (soil, asphalt, etc.).
- Working on gradients and slopes.

- Identifying underground services and overhead obstructions.
- Understanding signals and communication on site.
- Emergency procedures and protocols.

- Hands-on training in safe machine operation.

Assessment:
- Theory Test: Multiple-choice questions to assess understanding of safety regulations, operational knowledge, and roller functionality.
- Practical Assessment: Hands-on evaluation of pre-use checks, safe operation, and maneuvers on the roller.
Certification:
- Upon successful completion, participants receive an NPORS card valid for up to 5 years.
- The card can be endorsed with the CSCS logo if the Health, Safety, and Environment test is also completed, enhancing site access.
Duration:
- Typically 3 days, depending on the experience level of participants.
Entry Requirements:
- Minimum age of 16 years.
- Good understanding of English.
- Basic health and fitness to perform practical tasks.
Renewal:
- Refresher training and reassessment are required every 5 years to maintain certification.
